CNN reported on the decision by the Colombian Constitutional Court that gave the Congress a two year deadline to legislate in favor of same sex marriage. LGBT activist around the country celebrated the Courts’ decision. The Washington Times reported that it is very unlikely that the three pending trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and Korea, will pass anytime soon due to the debt ceiling crisis. Voice of America reported that the former Minister of Agriculture, Andrés Felipe Arias has been jailed due to corruption charges during his tenure as Minister for the Uribe administration. Fox News reported on the attack launched by the guerrilla of the FARC against the municipalities of Toribio and Caloto in the department of Cauca.
