Colombia in the US News l Colombia en la Prensa Estadounidense

The BBC reported on the car-bomb that exploded in the southern department of Cauca. Three officers died and three civilians were injured. The attack was attributed to the FARC. The ABC reported on the action plan signed by the US and Colombian governments to advance on the stalled free trade agreement. The article said that the passing of the agreements with Panama and Korea depended on Colombia showing progress regarding the action plan. The Washington Post reported on criticisms of the action plan among workers both in Colombia and the US. The National Geographic Daily News reported on the environmental threats posed by the mining permits that have been authorized by the Colombian government to exploit gold mines in fragile ecosystems. The Wall Street Journal reported on the diplomatic victory of the Venezuelan government over the US government regarding the extradition of the drug lord Walid Makled to Venezuela.

La BBC reportó sobre el carro-bomba que estalló en el departamento del Cauca, dejando un saldo de tres oficiales muertos y tres civiles heridos. El ataque fue atrubuído a la guerrilla de las FARC. La cadena de televisión ABC reportó en su página de internet sobre el plan de acción firmado por los gobiernos de Estados Unidos y Colombia, que busca avanzar el tratado de libre comercio entre las dos naciones. El reportaje señala que la aprobación de los tratados con Panamá y Corea dependen de los avances que el gobierno de Colombia logre en cuanto al plan de acción. El Washington Post reportó sobre las reacciones que generó el plan de acción entre Estados Unidos y Colombia, entre grupos de trabajadore en los dos países.
