Colombia in the US News l Colombia en la Prensa Estadounidense

The Huffington Post reported on the pending free trade agreement between Colombia and the US and how some members of the US Congress are asking President Obama to send Korea first before moving forward with the agreements with Panama and Colombia. FOX News reported on the attack by the FARC against three police officers in the department of Cauca. The police officers were ambushed by FARC militants outside the municipality of Miranda. Reuters reported on the bombing of a gas pipeline allegedly by rebel forces. The pipeline transports gas from Colombia to Venezuela. The Washington Post reported that according to Wikileaks cables the Colombian army has been using drones since 2006 for counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics operations. It is not clear if the drones were part of the multi-billion dollar aid package to the Colombian army over the last 10 years.
