The Washington Post reported that an Army major and four soldiers have been charged with killing three civilians in the department of Antioquia in 2002. The Attorney General’s office charged the men of murdering the innocent civilians and then dressing them in guerrilla fatigues to present them as guerrilla soldiers killed in combat. The Los Angeles Times reported on the oil bonanza in Colombia and how it has not translated into better conditions for farmers living in the oil areas. Revenues from oil exploitation have not contributed to local infrastructure, development or environmental investment. The Wall Street Journal reported that the passing of the free trade agreement between Seoul and Washington could signal that other pending free trade agreements, such as the agreements with Panama and Colombia could be heading towards approval by the US Congress. The Associated Press reported that a guerrilla attack on the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, has left nine dead including a minor.

El Washington Post reportó sobre el pliego de cargos emitido en contra de un Mayor y cuatro soldados del ejército por el asesinato de tres civiles en Antioquia en el 2002. La Fiscalía sindicó a los cuatro uniformados de asesinar a tres civiles y luego vestirlos de guerrilleros para presentarlos como muertos en combate. Los Angeles Times publicó un reportaje sobre la bonanza petrolera en Colombia y como no se ha visto traducida en mejores condiones para los campesinos que viven en las regiones de explotación del crudo. Las regalías no han contribuído a mejorar la infraestructura local, generar desarrollo, ni a proteger el medio ambiente, aseguró la publicación. El Wall Street Journal reportó sobre la aprobación del tratado de libre comercio entre Estados Unidos y Korea y como este hecho podría significar que otros tratados que se encuentran estancados en el Congreso Americano, como los de Panamá y Colombia, podrían ser los siguientes en ser aprobados. La Prensa Asociada reportó el ataque guerrillero al municipio de San Vicente del Caguán, el cual dejó nueve muertos incluyendo un menor de edad.
